Covington Woods is about 99% detached single-family housing, with roughly 87% of it built between 1970 and 1999. Individual lots, individual garages, individual sheds — and a tree canopy heavy enough that yard waste is a category of its own here.
Because the neighborhood is almost entirely detached single-family homes on their own lots, storage is distributed rather than shared: every property has its own garage, its own attic and in many cases its own shed. There is no common area absorbing the overflow, which tends to mean each cleanout is self-contained and sized to one household.
The thirty-year build spread shows up in what actually comes out. A 1972 house being cleared after long ownership produces genuinely dated furniture and appliances; a 1997 house being cleared before a sale produces a different, more recent mix. Both happen here, sometimes on the same street.
The tree canopy is the neighborhood’s defining feature and it drives a steady flow of yard material — routine trimming, seasonal leaf volume, and larger limb debris after Gulf Coast storms. It is a distinct category from household junk and is usually better handled as its own job.
Renovation activity in the older sections adds cabinetry, flooring and fixture debris as thirty-to-fifty-year-old interiors get updated.
